In South Dakota, Certified Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwives may apply for prescriptive authority for controlled substances under schedule II to V in collaboration with physicians.

South Dakota Nursing Licensure Renewal

All nursing licenses in South Dakota expire biennially. Twelve hours of training and 12 hours of practice per year are required for Certified Nurse Aide license renewal.
